21 JULY 2023 WorldWide Drilling Resource® In Memoriam Nickolas Todd “Nick” Beeman (1987~2023) Nickolas Todd “Nick” Beeman was born on June 5, 1987, to Cathy and Todd Beeman in Mesa, Arizona. He spent the majority of his childhood in Gold Canyon, Arizona, playing baseball, tennis, dirt-biking, and as much time outdoors as physically possible. He was a natural athlete. Nick was always surrounded by family, choosing his cousins as his preferred playmates. The Beeman family moved to Moab, Utah, during his sophomore year. If you wanted to find Nick, you would have the best luck searching for him in the mountains where he rallied his truck, rode his dirt bike, and sat around a fire with his many friends. After his graduation in 2006, he used his newfound freedom and ever-curious nature to spend some years traveling. Nick attributed his time traveling as being the most formative time in his life and ultimately contributed to the wise and open-minded person he was. Following his travel ventures, Nick returned to Moab to follow in his father’s footsteps and work for the family business, Beeman Drilling and Equipment Sales. Nick was known for his vivacious spirit and independent lifestyle, but decided to settle down when his little girl, Norah Lee Beeman, was born in 2021. He fell into the role of fatherhood like a natural. She was the light of his life and she had him wrapped around her finger. He loved her so and must have loved Norah’s mother Christina too, because they got married in 2022, even though he claimed to be strictly against the institution of marriage. They spent their honeymoon in the Abajo Mountains drinking beer, sitting by a campfire, sleeping in the dirt, and enjoying the silence. Nick passed away on May 29, 2023. He is survived by his wife Christina; daughter Norah Lee; stepchildren Oliver and Emory; grandmother Sylvia; grandfather Chuck; parents Todd and Cathy; siblings Cassy (Colman), Nathan (Makala), Cammy (Trevor), and Nolan; nieces Cailey, Blair, and Chloee; and nephews Caden, Connor, Cooper, and Baylor. His beautiful blue eyes and smile will live on in the face of his daughter. The management and staff of WWDR extend their heartfelt condolences to Nick’s family and friends. Lest we forget . . . Lithium Exploration Efforts Pay Off in Texas Adapted from Information by Standard Lithium Over the past three years, Standard Lithium Ltd. has been exploring the Smackover Formation area in East Texas. Those efforts have led the company to believe it has found the highest confirmed lithium-grade brine in North America. Dr. Andy Robinson, president and COO of Standard Lithium said, “We’re excited to discover this outstanding resource and to add it to our expanding portfolio of select projects in the Smackover Formation. We have built a large and technically diverse team of Smackover specialists who have been working for almost three years to understand the most prospective areas to secure the highest quality brine resources in East Texas. The technical group has been supplemented by a strong team of mineral and land professionals who have been securing the extensive brine rights in these key project areas. Based on this work, the company acquired the rights to one existing well and to drill a new deep well. We are delighted that sampling from the new well has led us to find lithium brine with, to the best of the company’s knowledge, the highest grade in North America. “These very high-quality lithium brine resources, located in the heart of the Gulf Coast region, are close to, and highly complementary to, Standard Lithium’s existing lithium projects and have the potential to play a key role in future lithium production . . .” In addition to sampling and analytical testing of produced water from existing gas and oil production wells from the Smackover Formation, the company has analyzed existing petro-physical logs and 2D seismic EXB Lithium Cont’d on page 26
