WorldWide Drilling Resource

26 JULY 2023 WorldWide Drilling Resource® data, as well as analyzing existing core samples from previous drilling activity. As a result, the company identified a number of highly prospective lithium brine project areas in the Formation and began an extensive brine leasing program in key areas. The greatest level of effort to date, and the company’s main brine focus, has been close to the Arkansas and Louisiana state lines. The company has not only been securing brine rights in the area over the last 18 months, it also secured access to a preexisting gas and oil production well and drilled a new exploration borehole. The preexisting well was reentered using a workover rig and the existing production casing was perforated at various depth intervals to gather new brine samples from different levels in the formation. The new exploration well was advanced and cased using a typical rig and subsequently sampled using a workover rig. Brine samples taken from these two wells, in addition to samples taken from other closely adjacent wells completed in the Smackover Formation in East Texas, were analyzed at multiple analytical laboratories to confirm sample quality. This workover rig at the preexisting production well in East Texas, was used to reperforate the existing production casing to allow brine sampling from various zones in the Smackover Formation. Lithium Cont’d from page 21. by Tim Rasmussen Baker Manufacturing Company is a long-time producer of water pumps and water supply systems in the United States. These green hand pumps have graced the rural farmland of the USA for decades, and generations of people have memories of using those green pumps to get water. Don Wesdell is the gentleman who has had the responsibility of guiding Baker Manufacturing for many years; he has also been a good friend of Water for Life. For years, he has allowed us to buy pumps and supporting equipment at cost, and assisted us with donations of a few pumps each year and the cost of freight to our shop in Spokane, Washington. Gary Bartholomew had a conversation with him at the last groundwater event in Las Vegas and thanked him for his generosity to us over the years. They talked a little about our coming needs and Don encouraged Gary to tell him what we needed most. There followed an exchange of e-mails between the two of them which laid the groundwork for the largest gift Water for Life has received from Baker. Gary received a call from Mitchell Lewis and Staver of Spokane, and was informed there was a bunch of stuff there from Baker Manufacturing for him to pick up. Gary took his car carrier trailer down with him and was amazed to find there were four pallets of pumps and another pallet of coated pump rod to go with them. All together there were 48 pumps and 4000 feet of pump rod. This is enough to stock our warehouse and supply the pumps for a couple of years’ worth of drilling efforts in Guatemala. The freight to Spokane had been paid as well. This kind of generosity has been what keeps Water for Life going. As we have grown over the years, our need for larger and larger donations has grown as well. We would not be able to do what we do without the help of companies like Baker Manufacturing and men like Don Wesdell helping us. We want to thank him for his kindness over the years and for this recent most generous gift. Water for Life has more than 200 wells in constant operation in Guatemala. Most of the wells have those same green pumps working every day providing clean, safe water for homes and families in rural villages where there is no power and no ability of the government to provide any. The people of these villages thank Baker Manufacturing and all our donors who make our work possible.
