24 JUNE 2023 WorldWide Drilling Resource® In Memoriam Casimir Pavel “Cas” Ziolkowski (1954~2022) The Crazy Horse Memorial family lost Casimir Pavel “Cas” Ziolkowski on May 12, 2022. He was the fifth of ten children born to Ruth and Korczak, up on the mountain where he gave his heart and soul, in Crazy Horse, South Dakota. He married the woman of his dreams, Deiadra, in 1983, and spent years building a log home by hand, putting so much work, effort, and love into it every day for his family. He enjoyed coaching softball, spending all kinds of time with his grandchildren, the Raiders football team, keeping the TV the loudest it could get, and hanging out with his dog Cooper. He would’ve given the shoes off his feet, and although he would’ve liked to keep the cigarettes in the pocket of his shirt, he would’ve given the shirt off his back and never ask for anything. Cas is survived by Deiadra; daughters Cheyanne (Ryan) and Taylor (Nolan); stepchildren David and Sonja; grandchildren Ryder, River, and Relic; and other extended family. Daniel Dwight “Dan” Clanton (1949~2022) Daniel Dwight “Dan” Clanton of Grove, Oklahoma, formerly of Baxter Springs, Kansas, passed away August 30, 2022. Born in 1949 in Kerrville, Texas, Dan’s family moved to Baxter Springs, where he graduated high school. He worked for several companies including Gulf, Thermex, and Slurry specializing in explosives. He was a member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers and the Apostolic Faith Church, and enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, hunting, reading, and traveling the world. Dan is survived by his wife Sharon; son Danny (Heidi); daughter Belinda; stepson Brad; grandchildren Tristan, Trevor, Kennedy, and Olivia; along with several extended family members. Robert Joseph “Joe” Wood (1949~2023) Robert Joseph “Joe” Wood passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2023, at his home in Spearfish, South Dakota. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he served eight years in the U.S. Army in Germany and another 20+ years in the Army Reserve. Joe attended the South Dakota School of Mines, and received his bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Nebraska. He was happiest being out in the Black Hills, especially in Galena. He loved all the wildlife that came through his land, making sure they always had plenty to eat. Left to mourn Joe’s passing are his sisters Claire, Anne, and Nancy; nephew Hans; and niece Elsa (Sveinung). David Stanley “Dave” Moore (1951~2023) The Ontario Ground Water Association (OGWA) lost longtime member David Stanley “Dave” Moore on March 30, 2023. He was a retired firefighter, working 25 years with the City of Mississauga and Markham, in Canada; proud owner of Ontario Well Drilling; and an active member of Rowland Masonic Lodge #646. He was a big supporter of OGWA and very active in the industry. Dave is survived by his wife Mary; children Karry, Jason (Vanessa), and Katelyn; and brother-in-law to ten siblings and spouses.
