Owner, Qwater Well Developer and WorldWide Drilling Resource® Hydrogeologist Farewell My Friends - Thanks for the Memories! This article will be my last written for WorldWide Drilling Resource® (WWDR). Doc Faison asked me to write the first of my technical articles back in 1981. Doc Faison was a self-taught well drilling contractor in North Florida with little formal education yet a very intelligent man with a keen sense of vision. His vision was to find a way for well drilling people to come together to buy and sell products and services, and exchange ideas to benefit the well drilling industry. So he started National Driller’s Buyer’s Guide in October 1980. After Doc sold that company, he and Ronnie Jones began WWDR in 2003. Later, she very capably took over this magazine. She and her staff continue to provide a resource for all facets of the drilling industry to come together. Ronnie asked me to continue writing the technical articles for WWDR, which I have done continuously, making this my 485th and last issue. (Special thanks to Michele at WWDR for being patient!) I want to thank the entire WWDR Team for the opportunity to write for the drilling community for these 40+ years. I am fortunate to have met many of you at trade shows, technical symposiums, and regulatory meetings, through working for Northwest Florida Water Management District and URS (AECOM) or through my company Qwater Well Developer. I have made friends and have learned a lot from your years of shared hands-on experiences, and will be forever grateful. I want to thank each and every one of you who have both in the past and to those who continue to contribute now in making the well drilling industry advance to where it is today by sharing your knowledge and resources with each other and the drilling world at large. I hope to see you at a meeting or convention in the future!
