The original SIMCO 5000 was developed in 1976. For nearly 30 years, it was known as a rugged and affordable drill that ran 20-foot drill pipe. The redesign took elements from the company’s 2800 and 7000 models. The new lightweight 5000 model is installed on a single-axle Ford F-600 chassis and features a rod carousel capable of holding 200 feet of drill pipe with the same torque as the 7000, 30% more than other rigs this size.
