Lightning is a giant spark of electricity in the atmosphere or between the atmosphere and the ground. In the initial stages of development, air acts as an insulator between the positive and negative charges in the cloud and between the cloud and the ground; however, when the differences in charges becomes too great, this insulating capacity of the air breaks down and there is a rapid discharge of electricity we know as lightning. It can occur between opposite charges within a thunderstorm cloud or between opposite charges in the cloud and on the ground. A conventional lightning rod’s basic function is to attract the lightning to lead it to the earth (grounding it). The basic function of the Dinnteco system (DDCE) is to avoid the lightning in the first place, and any impact it may have on the structure the DDCE is protecting. The technology of the DDCE ensures the structure protected by it does not generate upward tracers and therefore there are no lightning impacts on either the DDCE or the structure it protects. This effect is achieved by generating a continuous compensation of the electric field in its immediate surroundings (continuously generating a small current leakage to the ground), acting as a sink for variable radio frequency electric charges, which means no saturation of electrostatic charges or of the electric field can occur in its environment.
