39 JUNE 2024 WorldWide Drilling Resource® The “Idiots” Corner by “Billy Bob Smith” I don’t know what state you live in, but whatever. Are you aware of the thousands of state laws or rules you are required to follow - or get a ticket or go to jail? Well, I decided to see what my state’s laws were and there were over 150,000. So I looked to see the average and guess what - it’s over 135,000 for the average state. How many of your state’s laws do you know or are aware of? I’ll bet you break at least one every day but don’t get caught because law enforcement doesn’t know them either. Is this stupid or what? And this doesn’t include the tens of thousands of federal laws. Just reminds me of how many idiots in our states and the country are in charge and are just clueless or even just stupid. Here are a few of the common ones I found: ; Denying someone a glass of water is prohibited in Arizona. ; It is prohibited to frighten a baby in Missouri. ; Dogs are not to bark after 6 p.m. in Arkansas. ; It is illegal to sing off-key in North Carolina. ; In Connecticut, a pickle is not a pickle unless it bounces. ; No false promises are allowed in Louisiana. ; No kites allowed to be flown within city limits in Illinois. ; In Idaho, no bicycles allowed in tennis courts. ; It is illegal to catch a fish with bare hands in Kansas. ; Nobody is to step out of a plane mid-flight in Maine. ; Also in Connecticut, one is not to walk backwards after sunset. ; It is not permitted to take a lion to the movies in Maryland. ; In Minnesota, nobody is to cross state lines with a duck atop their head. ; Doughnut holes are not to be sold in Nebraska. ; In Georgia, it is illegal to eat fried chicken any way but with your hands. ; Also, chickens are not permitted to cross the road in Georgia. ; Drivers must not pump their own gas in Oregon. ; Anyone disturbing church services is subject to a citizen’s arrest in Mississippi. ; It is required that a person lend a phone to another in need in New Jersey. ; In Florida, singing in public places while wearing a bathing suit is not allowed.
