41 MAY 2024 WorldWide Drilling Resource® New Online Safety Tool Available Adapted from Information by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) unveiled a free online Safety Toolkit to support safety awareness, education, and training for off-highway equipment used in the construction, agriculture, mining, utility, and forestry sectors. The new online tool provides articles, safety education action plans, and PDF resources for toolbox talks. It also features the AEM safety manuals in digital format, which can be used for content reference, research, and support of AEM members. “AEM’s Safety Materials program is well-established, having provided printed manuals to its members and the industries they serve for over 50 years,” stated AEM Senior Director of Cultural Innovation Jaime Vos, who oversees the AEM safety materials. “And now we are making these valuable resources available through an online tool kit, making it easier for our members and the industry to reference our safety manuals and the full range of our safety training and education materials.” The kit features several valuable resources to help industry professionals increase their awareness of safety, including: E-Manuals - AEM’s safety manuals are documents developed, reviewed, and approved by committees within AEM, and they represent best practices for the industry. There are 55 manual titles available in a digital format. However, the E-Manuals are for online reference only and are not a replacement for original equipment manufacturers’ original documentation or the printed safety manuals required in the equipment. Action Plans - Online action plans are learning modules featuring content from the AEM safety manuals and can help employees navigate best practices for operating off-road equipment on the jobsite. Articles - AEM shares news, best practices, and industry leadership via its twice-weekly AEM Industry Advisor member newsletter and through partnerships with various trade publications and media outlets. These articles are available for everyone to access and read. Resources - Training slides, educational materials, AEM’s safety pictorial database, and other valuable information can be referenced for classrooms and toolbox talks.
