Damian has an extensive background in the environmental and geotechnical drilling service industry, as well as experience as an environmental consultant. Damian began the company in 2001 and has extensive experience working in Western Canada's environmental and geotechnical drilling service industry. As the Green Line LRT (light rail transit) Project in the City of Calgary is progressing, development partner BTC selected Core Drilling to test ground conditions. The work involves investigating the ground prior to tunnelling, as well as collecting groundwater samples to analyze for contamination. As a drilling expert, Damian has designed and operated state-of-the-art drilling equipment to meet the diverse needs of clients in the region. The information received through sample drilling will contribute to helping Green Line remove elements of risk throughout the project and design the best structure for the soil conditions. With an estimated $5.5 billion overall project budget, Green Line’s fleet of new modern low-floor train cars will improve accessibility and allow stations to integrate easily into the community for the expected 55,000 trips a day in year one. This Phase 1 will provide LRT service over an 11-mile route from Shepard Station to Eau Claire Station in downtown. It will have 13 stations and connect to Calgary Transit’s Red and Blue LRT lines and three MAX rapid transit routes. And with help from industry professionals, the completed Green Line LRT will safely connect people and places to enhance the quality of life in the city. GEOTECH
