23 AUGUST 2025 WorldWide Drilling Resource® by Tim Rasmussen, President and Chairman, Water for Life Since our beginning, Water for Life (WFL) has depended upon volunteers and donors. Without them, WFL would not exist. Some supporters are individuals, some are organizations that provide grants for drilling, and some are companies that serve the well drilling industry. HD Fowler Company is of one our long-time supporters of the latter category. Through the years, Water for Life has benefited from their generous support. HD Fowler is a multigenerational, family-owned company with over a century of experience in water supply infrastructure. They recognize access to clean water is one of the foundations of health, economic growth, and human dignity. This past February, three of their employees joined us in Guatemala for two weeks observing firsthand the challenges of drilling and pump work. They assisted on the cable tool and rotary rigs, as well as on the pump hoist, and also attended a well dedication. Their time with us encouraged them and they took a good report of the work we do back to the company. As a result, they want to help even more. HD Fowler has generously proposed we accept them as supporting partners in furtherance of their efforts to expand their corporate impact beyond traditional business goals and engage more of their resources in meaningful global service. They have offered to aid us in several ways. They will provide administrative support by allocating skilled employees to help meet our administrative needs more effectively; assist us in learning how to be more effective in grant writing and funding procurement; help identify funding opportunities, and assist us in managing documentation relating to those opportunities; as well as aiding our efforts financially. They are also interested in assisting with specific projects or needs we may encounter. HD Fowler will donate materials such as pipe, valves, tanks, and tools, and will annually audit their company inventory to identify items which can be donated. They will donate slightly damaged or unsellable material that still meet community needs. All they have asked of us is not to sell the items and that we use them to aid the people in Guatemala. They have offered to send teams of employees to Guatemala to focus on fieldwork and community education projects. These efforts are likely focused on supply problems, sanitation, as well as installation of community infrastructure projects and development. Water for Life is happy to have an offer of this type of professional support and assistance as we grow and develop into an improved, more efficient organization that will better serve our goal of bringing more clean, safe water to remote villages in Guatemala.
