WorldWide Drilling Resource

41 JULY 2025 WorldWide Drilling Resource® The “Idiots” Corner by “Billy Bob Smith” Idiots and the Human Body Let me start with - I am not in any way against: tattoos, body jewelry, or hair or body issues of either gender. I want to reiterate that any of my comments about idiotic behavior are not meant to be critical of certain groups of people. I'm just sharing my opinions about a topic. And as the Idiot who writes this column, I think I am entitled. People have a right to do whatever they want with their own body. Doesn’t make something wrong, stupid, or crazy - and I’m not belittling any group, but have a few observations I have seen over the years, especially the recent years. 2 I’ll start with a beautiful young woman I observed last month and her entire visible body - arms, legs, neck, etc. was completely covered with tattoos. Doesn’t she know what these might look like when she is in her 70s? 2 I met someone this month who had a really long beard, almost to his waist, so I asked him when he started growing it. He said in his late teens when he needed to start shaving. 2 During dinner at a restaurant last week, I saw what I think was a girl in her late teens. She had five earrings in each ear, three in her nose, and two over both eyes. 2 I met a fellow at the gym last week who was sitting on a chair the entire time he was there, so I asked him if he was okay. He said yes, his wife wanted him to work out every day and he just couldn’t do it, but she thought he was because she dropped him off at the gym every morning. 2 In one of my previous relationships with a female, I went to pick her up for dinner and she had her hair shaved in a mohawk. Needless to say, that was our last date. 2 While I was shopping at the store years ago, I witnessed an elderly man well into his 70s or 80s who had three big earrings in one ear. Here are a few comments I found on the Internet - interesting! 2 Tattoos are like magnets, they attract both compliments and judgment. 2 I wanted a tattoo to make me feel more rebellious, but now I just feel like a walking coloring book. 2 Tattoos are the ultimate conversation starters - who needs small talk when you have ink? 2 A tattoo can turn your body into a walking piece of modern art, or at least it’s what I keep telling myself. 2 I don’t have any tattoos, but I sure do enjoy judging the spelling mistakes on others. 2 Is this me and I am out of touch with reality, or are things getting out of control? One more, then I will call it quits: 2 Have you ever noticed many women take better care of their fingernails than their body? I saw a lady last month with really, really long nails and I’ll bet she was 150 pounds overweight. I was around during the time when folks acted a bit crazy back in the 1960s and 70s, so are we heading back in time to this period in history? I’ll close with a quick question. Have you witnessed a few of the crazy things people do to their body, or should I just shut up and mind my own business?
