This groundbreaking technology enables the autonomous collection of multiple high-fidelity measurements downhole, eliminating the requirements for a wireline unit and cable. The OnWave platform’s innovative cable-free design allows for development in less than half the time, while also facilitating drill pipe rotation and mud circulation during logging. It performs various tasks that would normally require engineers to conduct manually at the surface, such as acquiring borehole measurements and conducting data quality checks. Additionally, it continuously communicates with the surface to verify the tool’s position and operations downhole. This ensures a higher level of confidence in data quality, eliminating the need for additional remedial logging runs. Successfully utilized in diverse regions, including the United States and the Middle East, the OnWave platform has shown remarkable efficiency improvements in navigating complex well trajectories. For instance, in South Texas, it reduced the time to reach the well’s total depth from several hours to just 27 minutes. The surface processing of those measurements delivered high-quality integrated petrophysical and acoustic data, empowering exploration and production operators to refine stimulation as well as completion designs, while minimizing risks associated with asset field development.
