40 SEPTEMBER 2025 WorldWide Drilling Resource® In Memoriam Robert “Bob” Dekoski (1936~2025) Robert “Bob” Dekoski of Mt. Morris, Michigan, passed away July 9, 2025. Born in Ruth, Michigan, he was a graduate of Ubly High School. He moved to Mt. Morris and worked for General Motors and while there, he started Bob’s Pump Service. After 18 years, he left the shop. In 1973, he bought a water well drilling machine and started his own business named Dekoski Well Drilling, which he operated until a few years ago. He loved hunting, bowling, and playing Euchre. Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his wife, Deloris; children Duane, Sharon, Karl (Kelly), and Lisa (Randy); grandchildren Stephanie (Pete), Daniel (Sarah), Jozsua, Travis, Kimberly (Joe), Kayla (Jeff), Stephen, and Samantha; great-grandchildren Henry, Lillian, Lauren, Lexie, Lydia, Ace, Kendall, Jessie, and Ryan; as well as his siblings Betty, Ray, Phyllis (Bob), Ethel, and Calvin (Jan). Gerald Abbott McGinn (1936~2025) The Alberta Water Well Drilling Association (AWWDA) was saddened to learn of the passing of Gerald Abbott McGinn on July 5, 2025, a few weeks shy of his 89th birthday. A man of immense stature and wisdom, Gerald had a great love for his family, friends, and community. His impact was substantial and his influence significant. He established Gerald McGinn Drilling in 1967, and in 2017, celebrated 50 years of drilling and servicing water wells in the Stony Plain area. An honorary member of AWWDA, Gerald served as Director of the Board from 1983 to 1988, and Secretary Manager of the Board from 1990 to 1997. Gerald is lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie; children Terry, Dianna (Darryl), and Sheila (Guy); grandchildren Jesselle (Nigel), Lindsay (Stephanie), Graig, Scott, Daniel, Jason, and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren Skyla and Asher; along with his brother Wilfred (Dorothy) and sister Carol (Jim). The management and staff of WWDR extend their condolences to Bob’s and Gerald’s family and friends. Lest we forget . . .
