26 AUGUST 2026 WorldWide Drilling Resource® The “Idiots” Corner by “Billy Bob Smith” Do Idiots Get Sick More? Ever wonder who gets sick more often with more serious illness or health problems? Kids, old folks, smokers, obese or skinny folks, women or men, poor or wealthy people, idiots or smart folks, or some other trait or characteristic? Well, I decided to do a little research to find out and guess what? I was right when it dealt with many of the health problems people have - especially idiots. Research shows certain personality traits are more strongly associated with higher disease burden and chronic illness risk, often through their influence on health-promoting or health-damaging behaviors. Since a few of the common traits of idiots are denial, hostility, arrogance, blame, and impatience, their genetics and/or immune systems can create a higher risk potential. Here are just a few things to consider when it comes to behavior and/or health and sickness: 7 Type A personality - Because of their need for time urgency, control, competitiveness, or drive, these traits contribute to illness. 7 Health behaviors such as smoking, alcohol use, stress, or drug use. These are major contributors to sickness. 7 Certain personality disorders are also contributors to headaches, chronic pain, asthma, allergies, and rheumatism, which are common among idiots. 7 Some idiots are addicted to certain medications, lifestyle choices, and habit patterns that are major contributors to a variety of illnesses. I could give you many more examples, but I’m sure you get the message - idiots get sick more often, stay sick longer, and often die because of their illness consequences. So which group are you in - those planning for a future sickness or health issue because of personality type, actions, or behaviors? Are you dealing with some illness or sickness one now and not sure why you have it? Let me close by sharing one of my life mantras: “I don’t get sick.” A few months ago, I was at a meeting for let’s just say an interesting group of people, and I was under the weather. Someone asked if I was sick and I said, “I don’t get sick.” He said, “You sure sound sick.” I responded with, “I know I sound sick, but I’m not sick.” He just gave me a stupid look and walked away.
