Is it different because of position or responsibilities? Is it only about work or career? Trust me, I spent a couple of hours trying to get some relatable facts on this topic, but all I could find was general traits, tactics, or behaviors. So I’ll tell you what I found, then I’ll give you a very brief overview of my take. Professionalism is the conduct, qualities, and standards expected of a person in a professional role. It involves consistently behaving in a competent, ethical, responsible, and respectful manner. Key characteristics of professionalism include: Competence • Integrity • Responsibility • Respect • Reliability • Accountability • Professional Appearance • Discipline • Communication • Consistency • Excellence • Personal Growth • Resilience • Perseverance Really, does anyone have all these traits consistently regardless of circumstances? I doubt it. My take is that professionalism relates more to the quote than all of the above. Why? If the right moral values are present in someone’s personality, it won’t make a difference how few of the required traits (above) a person has. But if a person has all of the specific qualities, yet lacks the right moral values . . . Your thoughts? Are we currently heading in the right direction when it comes to professionalism in life? Is “AI” going to have a negative or positive impact on professionalism? Are the younger generations including or eliminating professionalism from their lives, careers, and relationships? Following completion of the Indorama gas export pipeline and approval from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC) commenced the supply of gas to Indorama. The four upstream wells which had been on standby since November last year, were turned on. With wet gas production stabilizing, the project delivers 40-52 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of processed gas directly from the plant to the Indorama Petrochemical Plant. Additionally, preparations are underway to sell the processed gas to the Nigeria LNG and will support the gas plant to further scale production toward a capacity of 300 MMscfd. The gas plant was developed by AGPC, a joint venture between Seplat Energy and the Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC). The integrated plant consists of two 150 MMscfd gas processing units, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) recovery units, condensate stabilization units, and a 16-megawatt power plant. The LPG produced from ANOH, combined with the LPG production at Sapele and the Bonny River Terminal, will make the company a leading supplier of clean cooking fuel to the local market. The ANOH gas plant will also process the flared gas from the Ohaji field, allowing Seplat to achieve its onshore End of Routine Flaring program, a key commercial and sustainability initiative for the company. Roger Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Seplat Energy said, “ANOH is the first of the seven critical gas development projects identified by the Federal Government of Nigeria to commence operations. It is an important strategic project for Seplat, our partner NGIC, and Nigeria as a whole. It has taken a significant amount of commitment and hard work to complete the project in a part of the onshore Niger Delta with limited gas pipeline infrastructure, and we are extremely proud of this achievement. This is our third major gas processing facility onshore and increases our joint venture gross gas processing capacity onshore to over 850 MMscfd. “ANOH will provide material income streams for Seplat, reduce our carbon intensity . . . It will also increase energy access for Nigerians in terms of both power and clean cooking fuel for the local communities, while advancing delivery of our mission to support economic prosperity in Nigeria.”
