She graduated from Cadwell High School where she played basketball. She then became a longtime employee of Piggly Wiggly grocery store until she joined her husband at his business, Doyle Taylor Well Drilling. After his death, she continued to run the business with the help of their loyal employees until 2010. She was known for her generous heart, spunky attitude, and love of travel. Having had no children of their own, she is survived by a few cousins, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Carl Michael “Mike” Corum (1956~2024) Carl Michael “Mike” Corum, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went home to our Lord on May 5, 2024. He was of the Baptist faith. He served the U.S. and was a Veteran. He started Corum Well Drilling in 1993. He also liked to pick guitar and sing, loved history, and was the best storyteller. Mike is survived by his son Dustin (Stacey); grandchildren Karlie, Keelie, and Kash; stepchildren Angie, Terry, and Rodney; brothers H.E. and Chris; sister Cindy (John); sister-in-law Leah; nephews Greg (Candace), Mike (Kelly), Casey (Heather), Jason, and Brent; nieces Chasity (Josh) and Charity; special friend Jerry, and loving friend Ann. William F. “Bill” Loftus (1933~2024) William F. “Bill” Loftus, 90, of Brewster, Massachusetts, formerly of Valley Cottage and South Nyack, New York, left this life on March 20, 2024. Bill was born in 1933, and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He loved to reminisce about playing marbles and stickball games in the street, and summers spent swimming and playing baseball in Wildwood. He continuously entertained many generations with his funny stories and memories - with and without embellishments! He attended Brooklyn Tech, then Manhattan College where he graduated with a civil engineering degree. In 1968, he founded his engineering firm William F. Loftus Associates where he lent his knowledge, creativity, and expertise to a large range of highly prominent projects across the tristate area and was a mainstay with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, consulting on many projects nationwide. In 1976, Bill and several others realized the importance of sharing experience and knowledge with other engineers, suppliers, contractors, and educators, so they founded Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) with this interdisciplinary focus at its core. This small, yet important, idea became a global organization with over 4000 professionals around the world gathering to share ideas and expertise. Bill was the president of DFI from 1981-1982 and then again from 1984-1985. In 2000, DFI’s Distinguished Service Award was bestowed upon him. Bill’s devout Catholic faith guided him throughout his extraordinary life. His ministry was profound in his local parishes, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, volunteered on many committees, sang in the choir, and mentored young people. He also served as a volunteer fireman in Valley Cottage. Bill will be remembered for his whistle, his gardening, birdwatching, extensive travels, passion for the New York Mets after his beloved Brooklyn Dodgers left town, his love for all things Irish, and most important - leading with grace and by example. Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary; children Kathy (Brian), Michael (Joanne), Bill (Fran), Meg (Anthony), Anne (Ben), and Jenny; grandchildren Kate (Joe), Colleen (Keith), Dan, Meaghan, Matt (Kristina), Deirdre (Todd), Christi (Greg), Brian (Devon), Bill (Julia), Addison (Alyssa), Kielty, Tristan, Jenna (Adrian), Erin (Corey), Neave, and Maea; and great-grandchildren Noelle, Scarlett, Beckham, Parker, Mary, Peter, Ashton, Tucker, Olivia, Declan, and Kitt. Lest we forget . . .
